At no charge, SBS Connect is a service offered by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) which provides insurance licensees and license administrators with the ability to complete numerous functions related to licensing and licensee status online. RIS Individual / Company Search Look-up
Original Resident Application Requirements:
1) For individuals applying for all lines of authority, successfully pass the Iowa Producer licensing exam(s). If you successfully pass the state licensing exam, your test results are automatically electronically submitted to the online system. Please allow two to three business days before applying for that line of authority.
2) Individuals must provide documentation for any "yes" answers to questions 39.1 or 39.2. Documents are submitted via the Electronic Attachments Warehouse linked from the online application. If documents are not submitted there, please scan the documentation and email as an attachment. Alternately, please fax the documentation to the Iowa Insurance Division, Attn: Licensing at 515-281-3059.
3) For Business Entities, Iowa requires the Producers listed as the Designated Responsible Licensed Producer to have an active Iowa license prior to the Business Entity license submission.

New Crop Insurance Producers Continuing Education Requirement
11.3(8) For a resident producer who holds qualification only for a crop
insurance line of authority and who is requesting renewal of a producer license
on or after January 1, 2010, the producer must be able to demonstrate the
following each time renewal of a license is requested:
- a. The producer has completed all training and continuing education requirements imposed by the federal Risk Management Association, if any
- b. The producer has completed 18 credits of continuing education, 3 of which must be in the area of ethics, except that a producer who is requesting renewal of a producer license during 2010 must demonstrate that the producer has completed 9 credits of continuing education, 3 of which must be in the area of ethics.

Indexed Annuity Outline
The IID recently adopted rules 191-15.80 - 87 which require all producers who
wish to sell fixed index life or annuity products on or after January 1, 2008 to
complete a 4 credit training course. Courses must be filed and approved
according to the general continuing education course approval guidelines.

for the IID to publish an outline of the required topics. The following June 1,
2007 outline is hereby published.
