Regulatory/Business Assistance

Iowa Business and Regulatory Assistance NetworkIowa Code 15E.19 directs the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) to coordinate regulatory assistance and that each state agency with regulatory programs affecting business to maintain a business coordinator to serve as the agency’s primary contact for regulatory affairs with IDED. The Iowa Business and Regulatory Assistance Network seeks to ensure access and responsiveness to requests for assistance from citizens, small business, industry and local units of government. Business Assistance Coordinators in agencies across state government work as a cohesive network coordinating communication, resources and streamlining service. You may contact the Iowa Department of Economic Development directly for assistance, or the agency contacts reflected below.

Please note that regulatory assistance does not extend to matters involving criminal or traffic law enforcement nor to regulatory matters which are subject to enforcement action, contested case procedures, or litigation.

Iowa's Business Assistance Coordinator network works as a unit across the State of Iowa enterprise to help you effectively identify your compliance needs and requirements. Our goal is to assist you in meeting business development timelines through efficient communication and timely processing of your compliance requirements needs. Please contact: Jim Armstrong, Business Coordinator, Iowa Insurance Division at 515-281-7367 or email at jim.armstrong@iid.iowa.gov for assistance.
